Biography

Hassane Kamara

Native to the Parisian suburb of Saint-Denis, Hassane Kamara actually started his football career at Toulouse as a left midfielder before joining Châteauroux, where he made his first-team debut and helped keep the club in Ligue 2.

The 2014/15 season marked a step up in his career as he scored four goals and registered two assists for his club, earning a move to Stade de Reims. There, following a loan spell at Créteil, he moved to left-back and made a significant contribution to the club's promotion to Ligue 1.

Pacy, explosive and disciplined, 'HK' caught the eye in 2019/20. Named the top-flight's best left-back by L'Equipe, Kamara's performances were consistently excellent over 28 competitive games (23 in L1) and he netted two fine goals against PSG and Monaco.

He joined OGC Nice on 25 June, 2020, and was first-choice for both Patrick Vieira and Adrian Ursea, and his 42 competitive appearances (3 goals, 2 assists) that season were the most of any Gym player. It also earned him international recognition as he made his Côte d’Ivoire debut in June 2021.

After another six months in the red and black, the former Rémois left Le Gym in the winter transfer window for the Premier League, with a move to Watford.
