Ahoussou loaned out to Sochaux

Following a solid campaign with third-tier side LB Châteauroux, Ange Ahoussou will ply his trade with Sochaux in Ligue 2 next season. The 19-year-old centre-back is set to join the Eastern French outfit on loan, with an option to buy, from 1st July 2023.

Having come through the ranks at RC Abidjan, Le Gym’s partner club, with whom he won an Ivorian league title in 2020, the Bouaké native signed for Nice in January 2022, before playing for Les Rouge et Noir’s reserves for the first six months of his time in Europe.

The Ivorian is fresh off the back of a convincing season on loan at Châteauroux, where he made 22 appearances, scored two goals and was one of the key architects behind the club’s survival in National.

Ahoussou will now prepare for life in the division above with Sochaux in 2023/2024. Les Lionceaux, who are aiming to make a return to Ligue 1, have enjoyed three consecutive top-ten finishes in their last three seasons in the second tier.

All the best for next season, Ange!
