Arnaud Souquet joins La Gantoise

After two years with the Gym, Arnaud Souquet (26 tears old) is preparing to sign for La Gantoise. A deal has been struck with the Belgian club for the Nice full back.

Arnaud Souquet’s Nice adventure comes to an end on this final day of the summer window. With this move, the former Dijon man will return to Belgium, the country where in the past, he played for Mouscron (D2).

Arriving in Nice in 2016, he found his place (after six months of adapting) on the right of Lucien Favre’s defence. He scored his first goal for the club against the rivals from Bastia, and then really got going in his first season with the Gym, with 26 starts, 1 goal and 5 assists in L1.

Souquet continued his ascendency and became one the Swiss coach’s most used players (2415 minutes played in the league in the 17-18 season). He contributed to the side’s qualification for the play-offs of the Champions League, by scoring in Amsterdam, an evening that will never be forgotten in Gym history.

OGC Nice thanks Arnaud for his effort and professionalism, and wishes him the best of luck for the rest of his career.
