Author of another brace on Saturday, Mario Balotelli has forced his way into the Top 10 of Nice goal scorers in a single first division season. Already ahead of the Little Prince Daniel Bravo (15 goals in 1988-89), the Italian has reeled in next two strikers on the list with 17 goals each, in Roby Langers (1989-90) and Hatem Ben Arfa (2015-16).

Super Mario now counts 18 goals this term (three more than last season) and can still hope to join another ‘Super’ in the form of Dario Cvitanich (19 goals in 2012-13) and perhaps even move into the Top 5 Rouge et Noir scorers with a double.

His partner in attack, Alassane Plea is also enjoying his best ever season with Les Aiglons. He has already netted 14 times (compared to 11 last term), just like Baky Koné or Loïc Remy before him. The number… 14 could also add to his tally in the Groupama Stadium a climb a little higher in the list himself.
