The race for Europe

It's getting tight in the race for Europe!

Held by Angers on Friday (1-1), the Niçois risked losing ground on their direct competitors during Week 33 of Ligue 1.

But neither the Rennais, surprised by Metz on Saturday (1-2), nor the Montpelliérains, beaten by Bordeaux on Sunday (1-3) took the opportunity to break away.

Nice in 6th, Saint-Etienne on the prowl

Lucien Favre's men now sit in 6th place, on level points with the Bretons. They have a slight lead on the Héraultais, who they face next weekend, as well as Saint-Etienne, who are closing in thanks to their win at Strasbourg (0-1).

Nantes, who extended their winless run to four (1-1 with Dijon), are still in the running with 45 points, just as Bordeaux are, currently on 43 points heading into their match with PSG next weekend.

2 clashes between European contenders
