Two days before the visit of Amiens (kick-off on Saturday at 8pm), the first league match of the year, Lucien Favre gave an update on his squad.

Unavailable at Toulouse and against Monaco, Mario Balotelli got back out onto the pitch on Thursday, mainly working in front of goal. “We can’t judge it based on that, explained the coach. In a match, you need to track back, to move laterally etc. It’s totally different, he hasn’t forced it yet. He has a slight niggle in the glute. I can’t say if he will be there for Amiens, we will see if he can train fully tomorrow (Friday) and if he is ready after that.”

Injured back in December, Christophe Jallet, is “doing better” continued the Swiss coach. Thursday was the first time that he was back training with the team. We will also see tomorrow.”

Although he didn’t take part in the day’s session, Wylan Cyprien will make his return to training on Friday.
