A look back on the Gym’s first half of the season using a series of statistics. 

The game 

→ Nice’s biggest victory in the first half of the season came against Monaco: 4-0, on 9 September.

Only Paris have made more passes (12,788) and boast a better pass completion rate (89.5%) than Nice (11,015, 87.6%) in Ligue 1 this season.

Only Lyon have a better shots on target % in L1 in 2017/18 (54.9%) than the Aiglons (52.2%).

Nice have had an average of 57.9% possession in L1 this season, only Paris (68.1%) and Marseille (58%) have done better.

Nice are the team who have made the least number of substitutions in Ligue 1 this season (47).

Only Toulouse have won more penalties (8) than Nice (7) in Ligue 1 this season. The Gym have scored 6, more than any other side.

→ The Red and Blacks are the only side in Ligue 1 in 2017/18 to not have conceded from a penalty. Walter Benitez has saved 2 in Ligue 1, the joint highest total alongside Mike Maignan.

 

The men 

Mario Balotelli is Nice’s top scorer from the first half of the 2017/18 Ligue 1 season (10 goals). Only Edinson Cavani (37) has had more shots on target than the Italian (29) in the top-flight this season.

Pierre Lees-Melou is the Nice player with most assists so far this season in Ligue 1 (4). He is the only Aiglon to have played in all 19 matches of the first half of Ligue 1 2017/18.

→ Bassem Srarfi is the Niçois who has come on as a sub on the highest number of occasions in Ligue 1 this season (7). On the other hand, Vincent Koziello & Allan Saint-Maximin have been replaced the most during games in the first half of the season (7).

→ Arnaud Souquet is the Nice player who has been involved in (192) and won (111) the most duels in Ligue 1 so far.
