Break

3 questions for President Rivère

At the end of the final outing of the year, Jean-Pierre Rivère gave his appraisal of the first half of the 2017/18 season, whilst speaking to Canal+.

How do you feel going into the winter break?

Calm. What has been done is these most recent games is positive. This evening, there was the opportunity to kill the game in the first half. We didn’t do it. And then the confidence swung the other way. We leave with a draw, sometimes you have to be happy with a draw.

What appraisals do you make of this first half of the season?

Highs and lows. Good moments and some less good moments. In the end, it’s not too bad, we are in sixth. With, however, a slight points deficit (27, editor’s note). We will need to work hard during the second half of the season. We still have a lot of matches because we are still involved in all of the competitions. We are looking to do even better, and to remain towards the top of the table because we flirted with the bottom of the table for a while. It’s a lot more comfortable when you are at the top.

What kind of winter transfer window can we expect?

There may well be some loans, because we have some players who need game time and who aren’t playing enough. And then, maybe an arrival, but to be honest I don’t yet know if we will move in the window. We will see. What counts is to consolidate this team and to continue to work to move forward.
