Coach Favre gives the low down before Caen

With two days to go before the league gets back underway in Caen (Sunday at 3pm), Lucien Favre gave the low down on his squad.

Missing from the field since mid-October, Mika Seri “is doing relatively well” according to his coach. “He trained back with the team the day before yesterday. Before that he had  been running a bit. It’s ok. We will see. I can’t say if he will be in Caen. He probably will be, but we will see.” The coach continued on the fitness of Yoan Cardinale: “He is also ok.” After getting injured ahead of PSG - Nice (27 October), the keeper was also back in training this week.

“Marlon has started running again this week and took part in a normal training session with the team on Thursday” added Lucien Favre, without giving any further indication about his presence in the squad on Sunday.

On the other hand, Allan Saint-Maximin isn’t back in time for the trip to Normandy: “It’s a bit more delicate. This week is a bit too soon.”

The Nice coach also gave an update on Wylan Cyprien, who has been back with the squad since 31 October: “It’s very encouraging, but you can’t forget the injury he suffered. He will need to feature in the N2 before coming back with us. He will need to play progressively for the Reserves, and then we will see how he feels. It won’t be this weekend against Tarbes. Maybe in time for the next one.”

Finally, Ignatius Ganago “will not be back before January.” After picking up an injury to his adductors, the young forward (18 years old) has suffered “a set-back”.
