Lees-Melou: “Stick together”

His first goal in Red and Black, scored from the penalty spot, wasn't enough. With a look of disappointment on his face, Pierre Lees-Melou stopped in the mixed zone to analyse his side's defeat against Strasbourg on Sunday (1-2): “We have been made to pay for our first half performance which we completed messed up. We weren't good enough. We weren't there in the duals, the second balls. In the second period, we showed a different side to our game, but it wasn't enough. When down to 10 men, Strasbourg closed up the spaces and defended well. We are in a difficult period. 4 defeats in a row, that's a lot for a club like OGC Nice. We need to move more, to work two times as hard. We need to stick together and to concentrate primarily on our defensive work. We need to be stronger in midfield before thinking about attacking. We lose silly balls and they counter, and these errors are costing us a lot at the end of the day. We have a difficult trip ahead of us on Friday (against PSG). We will leave nothing to chance, to get back to work to try to get ourselves going again. Only hard work will pay off.”
