Meeting in the heart of Nice

On Wednesday, Pierre Lees-Melou, Jean-Victor Makengo and Adrien Tameze came to meet their fans, in the heart of the old town.

Accompanied by the first rays of sunshine of the day, the Aiglons travelled to Place Rossetti at 2pm. Sat at a table on the terrasse of the famous ice cream parlour Fenocchio, the 3 new Aiglons posed for photos and signed autographs. Bits of paper, cards, shirts, even phone cases were signed.

“It’s brilliant that they came to us, in the “Old”. Normally, it’s us who travel to see them, delighted a young supporter. The pleasure was visibly shared by the three new boys, as JV Makengo explained: “It’s an enriching moment. I have discovered this superb square.” “With its colourful facades, it’s an unusual place. I like the style” (Tameze).

The fans and players made the most of the moment to taste the ice creams on offer at the Nice institution. “It’s a delight” commented Makengo. After a conversation with the owner, Pierre Lees-Melou was rather blunt: “There is only 15% sugar. But, even though they are excellent, I won’t be able to finish it. There is training after this.”

“It was a nice moment, continued the ex-Dijonnais. We are all smiling. The fans asked us to make them dream like last season. We said we would do all we can to do so.” A young supporter explained: “We told them to enjoy it, and to keep helping us enjoy it too!” “They drive us on, described Makengo. It is always great to be welcomed so nicely. We already feel at home.”
